Infrastructure Research Ontologies is a consortium of champions from UCL, Cranfield, Newcastle, Leeds and Oxford universities. Led by Professor Liz Varga, UCL, this Champion group addressesed the absence of a high-level infrastructure research ontology (IRO) which will support the identification of gaps and priority areas and will provide a shared framing for stakeholder engagement with DAFNI.
The work involved 7 work packages. Here is a high-level adressed introduction to the scope:
- Management of research ontology – Professor Liz Varga, UCL
- Different types of infrastructure research ontology – Lauren McMillan , UCL
- Ontologies and datasets – Professor Stephen Hallett and Ian Truckell, Cranfield University
- Industrial ontologies – Dr Andrey Postnikov, UCL
- Ontologies and scale – Tom Russell, University of Oxford
- Ontology of ontologies and methods – Dr Luke Smith, Newcastle University
- Ontologies for data visualization – Dr Nik Lomax, University of Leeds
